Jerusalem Day

So yesterday it happened, although the situation is not so calm and stable as preferable, but we took ourselves to celebrate anyway. What is this Jerusalem Day?
Jerusalem Day is an Israeli national holiday commemorating the reunification of Jerusalem after 6 days war (1967). During the Independence war in 1948, some parts of Jerusalem were took by Jordan under it’s sovereignty, mostly Old City with Temple Mount inside it. Once the Old City of Jerusalem reunited with rest of Jerusalem under Israeli sovereignty, the narrow corridor at Western Wall was widened to the modern days Plaza and it was reopen for Jews to pray there. Till then Jews were not allowed to pray at Western Wall.
The celebrations are marked by state ceremonies and memorial services. So we’ve started to celebrate at Mount Herzl with memorial services and continued to Israel museum, special blog will talk about Israel Museum, to meet Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Lion and his wife. Then we danced with Israeli youth at “Flag Dance Parade”. Usually it goes through Damascus gate directly to the Western Wall, but according to latest situation of escalation in Jerusalem, the parade went through Jaffa Gate and eventually ended at Western Wall, but we were not so brave to go whole nine yards to the Western Wall. Next Year come with us and make it better, make it to the Western Wall and I promise you will never forget these moments of your life !!!!
